Service Description

When our most important relationships begin to falter, our personal health and happiness can also be affected. Although you may feel that you can try and work through the problems alone, seeking outside support can be very useful to help you see things more objectively. Couples therapy is an effective way to tackle presenting issues in your relationship. The safe space in the therapy room would allow both parties to discuss and explore their views and feelings. Most of the work that you do as a couple will take place in the session. However, you may also be given homework in the form of certain tasks or topics to be discussed together at home. My role would be to facilitate change and bring about resolution by helping you communicate more effectively and reach your own conclusions that make most sense to you. Remember that although you may feel nervous about discussing private matters with someone you’ve never met before, that’s completely expected and natural. I aim to always provide a confidential and non-judgmental environment so you feel comfortable exploring feelings and thoughts openly. My overall aim as a therapist would be to help you: - Understand how external factors like family values, religion, and lifestyle can affect your relationship. - Reflect on the past and how it operates in the present. - Learn how to communicate more effectively. - Learn to notice warning signs of arguments escalating and how to prevent that. - Negotiate and resolve conflicts in a calm and effective manner.
