The Retreat

Guided by me, an accredited and qualified therapist dedicated to helping others reconnect with their inner calm — this six-day, five-night retreat is an invitation to pause, breathe, and rediscover the simple beauty of being present. Set in the tranquil embrace of a Bulgarian village surrounded by nature, each day blends mindfulness practices, group and one-to-one therapeutic interventions, and unhurried time to rest and reflect.

Throughout the retreat, you’ll be gently guided through experiences that awaken both body and spirit. We’ll share evening campfire group discussions, guided stargazing beneath vast, unspoiled skies, and a series of immersive local journeys — including a trip to the nearby beach, an off-road adventure to the ancient Ovech Fortress, and a visit to the Historical Park, where you’ll explore Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage and take part in a hippotherapy session led by a skilled hippotherapist. These experiences invite balance, curiosity, and healing through movement, connection, and story.

You’ll also have space for your own rhythm — time for mindful reading, gentle rest, or joining optional activities such as archery, horseback riding, or a U-pick farm experience, where you can gather fresh vegetables straight from the earth.

Nourishment is woven into the heart of each day with three wholesome meals, lovingly prepared from fresh, local ingredients — some inspired by traditional Bulgarian recipes, others by world-loved dishes that bring comfort and joy.

By the end of our time together, you’ll have untangled layers of stress, released what no longer serves you, and rekindled a deep sense of balance, clarity, and connection — both within yourself and with the world around you.

The Location

Nestled in a quiet countryside just 25 minutes from Varna Airport, the retreat takes place in the tranquil village of Neofit Rilski. It’s a place where mornings begin with birdsong and days unfold at your own pace. The village is conveniently located close to Varna’s beautiful beaches, the historic Ovech Fortress in Provadia, and the scenic Bulgarian countryside, where visitors can enjoy traditional villages, lush landscapes, and authentic rural experiences.

The Villa

Villa Hambar is a charming two-story stone house that reflects the elegance of medieval Bulgarian style. Built entirely from natural materials—brick, stone, wood, and marble—it offers warmth and authenticity with underfloor heating, wooden window frames, and marble floors. The villa features four comfortable bedrooms—three with double beds and one with two single beds—accommodating up to eight guests. There are two bathrooms (one on each floor), a spacious dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, all furnished with simple, elegant oak pieces that highlight its rustic character. An external double suite with a private bathroom offers additional privacy and comfort.The villa also features a large, spacious private garden surrounded by nature, perfect for enjoying outdoor retreat activities in a peaceful, open-air setting.

The Food

Every meal is prepared with care to nourish both body and mind. The menu blends authentic Bulgarian flavors, such as homemade banitsa, stuffed peppers, and fresh yoghurt dishes, with world-loved classics like risotto, Stroganoff, and vibrant plant-based options. Guests can expect wholesome, balanced meals made from fresh local ingredients, offering a mix of comfort and discovery in every bite. Whether it’s breakfast under the morning sun or a warm evening dinner shared with others, food becomes an essential part of the retreat’s grounding and restorative rhythm.

About Me

I’m a BACP Accredited Therapist with over nine years of experience supporting individuals and couples on their journeys toward healing and growth. Throughout my work, I’ve seen how deeply burnout and chronic stress can disconnect us from ourselves, from others, and from our sense of meaning in life. This retreat was born from my belief that genuine connection, both inward and outward, is a vital part of recovery and self-actualisation. When we come together in an environment that nurtures safety, authenticity, and compassion, we create the conditions where true healing can happen. My passion lies in helping people slow down, reconnect with their inner selves, rediscover their resilience, and find peace within. In today’s world, where burnout is so often mistaken for weakness, I see it instead as a signal and an invitation to pause, to listen, and to return to what truly matters.
